Portable, fixed-site, and vehicle-mounted C-UAS configurations solve different operating problems. N-TET does not treat them as three sizes of the same system. A portable configuration is useful when equipment must be moved, stored, or brought to a temporary location. A fixed-site configuration supports continuous awareness around a defined perimeter and can be integrated with permanent power, network, mounting, and duty-room systems. A vehicle-mounted configuration supports planned mobility, but it introduces questions about safe equipment placement, changing horizons, network availability, startup checks, and how records are associated with each operating position. The right choice depends on who will operate the system, how quickly it must be ready, how long it must remain active, and whether the organization needs repeatable records from one site or flexible awareness across several locations.

When does a portable configuration make sense?

Portable equipment can fit temporary events, inspections, short-duration site reviews, backup awareness, or locations where permanent installation is not yet justified. It may reduce civil-work requirements, but it does not remove planning. The operator still needs a suitable position, stable power, network access where required, a clear field of view for relevant sensors, and a repeatable startup procedure.

Fixed does not mean maintenance-free. The design should identify who checks equipment status, who reviews alerts, how normal activity is documented, and how sensor rules are adjusted after construction, vegetation, RF conditions, or site procedures change. Mobility changes the background around every sensor. Buildings, slopes, parked vehicles, overhead structures, vibration, temporary RF noise, and the vehicle's own position can affect results. A vehicle-mounted review should therefore define safe operating positions, leveling or stabilization needs, startup validation, network options, and the way the platform records location and time.
